'05 World Sails Surge

The Surge has been a favorite of bump & jump and serious wave sailors for several seasons. The sails have built a solid following for their power, durability, and range of use. Improving on that was a tough order, but the World-Sails team seems to have come through.

For the 2005 season there is more shape in the boom area to enhance stability and extend the power band. The built in mast pad is improved. Slightly shorter luff lengths lower swing weight and allow better maneuverability.

The most noticeable upgrades are the Kevlar load strips through the mid section. This provides serious rip stopping strength in the critical window and clew areas, and together with extensive use of x-ply makes the Surge as tough as it gets, yet without the weight penalty or mushy feel of some other "heavy duty" sails.
